Ohio Registry for Prevention and Early Intervention

The Ohio Education Research Center, in collaboration with OSU's College of Social Work, received funding from the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health to establish the Ohio Registry for Prevention and Early Intervention, a publicly accessible resource designed to strengthen Ohio’s prevention and behavioral health infrastructure. The registry serves as a resource for state and local decision-makers, providers, and communities in identifying practices that align with community needs and meet established evidence standards.

A distinct feature of the Ohio Registry for Prevention and Early Intervention is the opportunity for locally developed, Ohio-based programs to submit their programs for consideration for inclusion on the registry. OERC staff conduct an initial review of each submission and identify appropriate expert reviewers to evaluate the program using a standardized rubric. Through this process, the registry helps elevate and evaluate evidence-informed practices developed in Ohio while also bringing information from national research sources together in one place.

OERC staff are also responsible for convening a multidisciplinary group of experts, including academic researchers, clinicians, state agency personnel, and community providers, to establish the inclusion criteria for the registry, develop a formal process for reviewing programs and assigning evidence levels, and advise on the development of the registry website.
